Voting and Judging

  • The winning entries will be determined by a combination of online voting and judge's scoring.

  • Online voting will start on September 24, 2018 and end on October 8, 2018. Online voting is a key element of the fundraising campaign and artists will be given the ability to easily invite family and friends to vote via email and social media. Voting will require a small donation by each voter and artists are encouraged to promote the event and their artwork.

Final Event

  • The final event, Denim Boots and Brushes, scheduled to take place at the Fair Barn, has been postponed.

  • An open house is being planned for early December.

  • Contest entries will be offered for sale in a silent auction at this event.

  • We will update you via email, but watch our website and Facebook page for updates.

Any artwork that is not sold, will either be used in future A Stroke of Patriotism events or will be donated to veterans and active military to hang in their homes.

Contest Rules

  • Artists may submit up to two entries that are completely original by the submitting artist.

  • Art should be a personal expression of “My America” and no larger than 36" x 48".

  • The following mediums are acceptable - oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, reduction printing, mixed media, fiber art and photography.

  • Artists must submit an image of their entry, its title, the story behind the entry and a personal profile.
